I have fond memories of my grandmother's garden.  I remember picking green beans for dinner or sneaking under the netting of the fruit cage in order to munch on her strawberries.  

 

My family garden used to be full of fuchsia as these were my father's favourite plants and he liked to propagate them.  Now that my parents live in South Africa, beautiful orchids are amongst the variety of plants he cultivates.  The South African climate is conducive to growing just about anything one could wish to grow.  Little wonder I love visiting my parents as much as I do!

 

Sunday afternoon rambles as a youngster were often taken around privately owned gardens, like Compton Acres in Poole, Dorset.

 

My passion for gardening became ‘Flower Power’ in 2015. Purchasing a second hand lawn mower and some tools. Embarking on a vision of becoming a professional gardener and companion gardener.

I have gained  SVQ Level Two in Horticulture 2018/2019  at Borders College and  National Certificate in Horticulture with Garden Design 2020/2021 at SRUC College.

My family's love of gardening is true of the next generation also: my son even has pet names for his houseplants!
